Setting up WireGuard® VPNUK on Apple iPad

This guide will help you install and configure WireGuard VPN on iPad using the VPNUK service. The process is simple, secure, and provides fast encrypted VPN access on iOS.

WireGuard® configuration download

Please login using the VPN login username and password from the vpn account you would like to configure.
Click Here to download your WireGuard® configuration file, which is compatible with all devices.

IMPORTANT NOTES: A WireGuard® connection is currently only compatible with our Dedicated IP accounts. Each configuration file is generated automatically, twice per hour, the process can take up to 20 minutes to complete, it can therefore sometimes take up to 1 hour for a new configuration file to be created on new accounts. If you are a new user please allow the system time to generate your configuration file.

1: Download and Install WireGuard on Apple iPad

1. Visit the official WireGuard website: https://www.wireguard.com/install/
2. Click on iOS Installer and download the latest version from App Store.
3. Run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions.
4. Once installed, launch the WireGuard app.

2. Download Your VPNUK WireGuard Configuration File

1. Click here to download the WireGuard configuration file from our server.
2. Log in with your VPNUK VPN account login usernamd and password.
3. The system will fetch your WireGuard configuration file from the VPNUK server.
4. Save it to Files or iCloud Drive for easy access.

3. Import the WireGuard Configuration File into the WireGuard App

1. Open the WireGuard app on your Apple iPad.
2. Tap Add a Tunnel > Import from File or Archive.
3. Locate and select the configuration file you downloaded earlier.
4. Tap Create to add the tunnel.
5. The VPN connection will now be listed in the WireGuard interface.

4. Connect to VPNUK via WireGuard

1. Tap the toggle switch to Activate the VPN.
2. Once connected, WireGuard will show your Public IP, VPN endpoint, and handshake status.
3. To confirm the connection, check your new IP address by visiting: https://www.ipaddress.com/. Your IP should now match your unique VPNUK IP.

Optional Settings

1. Enable Auto-Start

To ensure WireGuard VPN connects automatically when you start your iPad:

1. Open WireGuard.
2. Click on your VPNUK connection and select Edit.
3. Enable “On-demand activation”.
4. Select Always On to ensure the VPN stays active.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

Cannot connect to VPNUK servers?

1. Ensure your WireGuard configuration file is correct and up to date, we would always recommend fetching a new configuration file from our server if you are unable to connect. Click here to download a new configuration file.
2. Try restarting your iPad and reconnecting.
3. Check if iOS Privacy Settings or other VPNs are interfering.

VPN is connected, but no internet?

1. Open WireGuard and go to your tunnel settings and ensure AllowedIPs = 0.0.0.0/0, ::/0 is set correctly.
2. Try toggling Airplane Mode on and off.
