VPNUK DNS Leak Test
Checks your IP details and tests for active DNS leaks.
Run the test to instantly check your public IP address, detect DNS resolvers in use, and confirm whether any DNS queries are leaking outside your VPNUK tunnel.

How to Run the Test
Run the test disconnected from VPNUK. Note the DNS resolvers shown — these will belong to your ISP. This confirms the test is working correctly.
Connect using your VPNUK app or manual configuration. Make sure you are fully connected before running the test again.
Click "Run DNS Leak Test" again. Your IP should now show as a VPNUK address. The DNS resolvers should no longer belong to your ISP — if they still do, you have a DNS leak.

What is a DNS Leak?
A DNS leak occurs when your device sends DNS queries — the lookups that turn website names like google.com into IP addresses — outside the encrypted VPN tunnel. Even if your web traffic is fully encrypted, leaked DNS requests can expose every website you visit to your ISP, network operator, or any on-path observer.
Leaks usually happen because of misconfigured resolvers, "smart" routers that override VPN DNS settings, captive portals, or operating system features that silently fall back to a default DNS server when the VPN resolver is slow to respond.
Privacy Risk
DNS requests reveal your browsing history and app destinations to your ISP — even when your traffic is encrypted.
Location Risk
Leaked queries may point to resolvers in the wrong country, undermining your geo-privacy and bypassing location-based services.
Integrity Risk
Rogue resolvers could manipulate DNS responses, redirecting you to phishing sites or injecting unwanted advertisements.
Your DNS, Fully Protected
VPNUK prevents DNS leaks by routing all DNS queries inside the encrypted VPN tunnel, enforcing safe private resolvers, and applying network-level protection that keeps your queries private at all times. If this test flags a leak on your current connection, connect to VPNUK and run it again.
