Setup Method: OpenVPN for Fire TV
The best way to use VPNUK on a Fire TV Stick or Cube is the OpenVPN for Android app — available directly from the Amazon Appstore. This gives you full VPN protection on your Fire TV without needing a router.
Step-by-Step: OpenVPN on Fire TV
Install OpenVPN for Android
On your Fire TV, go to the Appstore and search for "OpenVPN for Android" (by Arne Schwabe). Install it. If it's not available in your region, you can sideload it using Downloader — search our Knowledge Base or contact support for help with sideloading.
Generate Your Config File
On a phone, tablet or computer, log in to the Members Area and use the OpenVPN Config Generator (below) to download your personal config file. Email it to yourself or save it to a cloud drive accessible from your Fire TV.
Import the Config File
Open OpenVPN for Android on your Fire TV. Tap the + icon and choose Import. Navigate to your config file and import it. The profile will appear in your list.
Enter Your Credentials
Tap the profile you imported. You will be prompted for your VPN username and password. Enter the credentials from your Members Area under VPNUK Account Details. Tick Save password for convenience.
Connect & Verify
Tap Connect. Accept the VPN permission prompt. Once connected, the status bar will show a key icon. Verify your IP has changed using a browser on the Fire TV to confirm you're protected.
Your VPN username and password were emailed to you when you signed up. You can also find them in the Members Area under VPNUK Account Details. These are different from your Members Area login.
