VPN Won't Connect

If your VPNUK connection is failing, this guide walks through the most common causes and how to fix them quickly.

Quick check first:
  • Is your internet connection working (can you load a website without VPN)?
  • Are you using your VPN credentials — not your Members Area login?
  • Is your VPNUK subscription active?

1. Check Your Credentials

The most common cause of connection failure is using the wrong username or password. Your VPN credentials are different from your Members Area login.

  • Log in to the Members Area
  • Go to VPNUK Account Details
  • Copy the VPN Username and VPN Password exactly as shown
  • Update your VPN client with these credentials and try again

2. Try a Different Server

Shared IP Account

If the server you're currently connecting to is unavailable, try a different one. Your full list of available servers is in the Members Area under VPNUK Account Details.

Dedicated IP Account

Your Dedicated IP address is assigned to a specific server — you cannot connect to a different server. If you are unable to connect, please contact our support team for assistance.

3. Try a Different Port / Protocol

If your ISP or firewall is blocking the default VPN port, switching to a different port usually resolves the issue. In your VPN client settings, try these combinations:

ProtocolPortNotes
UDP1194Default — try first
TCP443Usually passes through firewalls
UDP8080Alternative UDP port

4. Check Firewall & Antivirus

Windows Firewall or your antivirus may be blocking the VPN connection. Try temporarily disabling them to test. If disabling resolves the issue, add your VPN client as an exception in your security software.

See: Antivirus & Firewall Blocking Guide

5. On a Restricted Network?

If you're on a corporate, hotel, or public network, VPN connections are sometimes blocked. Try our Obfuscation option which disguises VPN traffic as regular HTTPS traffic.

See: Obfuscation & DPI Bypass Guide

Still can't connect?

If none of the above resolves your issue, our support team can diagnose the problem directly. We're available 24/7 via live chat, WhatsApp or ticket.
