Wrong Credentials / Authentication Failed

Getting an "authentication failed" or "wrong username/password" error? This is almost always caused by using the wrong set of credentials. Here's how to find the right ones.

Important: You have two different logins
  • Members Area login — used to log in at vpnuk.net. This is your email and Members Area password.
  • VPN credentials — used inside your VPN client (OpenVPN, IKEv2, VPNUK app etc.). This is a separate username and password.

Where to Find Your VPN Credentials

  1. Log in to the Members Area at vpnuk.net/my-account
  2. Click on VPNUK Account Details
  3. Your VPN Username and VPN Password are displayed here
  4. Copy them exactly — pay attention to capitalisation
  5. Paste them into your VPN client and try connecting again
Can't find your credentials?

Your VPN credentials were also emailed to you when you first signed up. Check your inbox (and spam folder) for an email from VPNUK. If you still can't find them, contact our support team and we can resend them immediately.

Amazon / iOS App Users

The VPNUK app on Amazon Fire TV and iOS uses a VPN username and password — not your standard VPN credentials or Members Area login. Your VPN login details are included in your welcome email and are available in the Members Area under VPNUK Account Details.

Common Mistakes

  • Using your email address as the VPN username (your VPN username is a separate string, not your email)
  • Using your Members Area password as the VPN password
  • Copying with extra spaces before/after the credentials
  • Typing credentials manually and making a typo — always copy and paste
